Outcome Reflection VII
Reviewing and Editing: Personally, this outcome is about moving beyond "correctness" and focusing on intentionality. It means realizing that a sentence isn't just right or wrong; it’s either serving me or getting in my way. For instance, for Project 3, I wrote for a specific audience. This meant stripping away jargon and making "informed stylistic choices," such as using active verbs and shorter paragraphs, to improve readability.
This reminds me of how I consume content daily; if a website is cluttered or full of typos, I immediately lose trust in the brand. In the discussion board, the feedback I received on user-centered design really hammered home that editing is a form of empathy. When I spent time catching mechanical errors or smoothing out my peers' suggestions on my proposal and presentation, I wasn't just "fixing" a document; I was ensuring my reader didn't have to work harder than necessary to understand my message.
