Outcome Reflection III

For this instructional “Whiskey Sour” video, the Visual Communication focuses on utilizing design principles to transform abstract data, like ratios and chemical reactions, into intuitive user-friendly visual displays. This outcome means more than just filming; it involves the strategic use of visual hierarchy, color theory, and spatial arrangement to guide my audience eye. This translates to using infographics to display ingredient proportions or text overlays that emphasize critical temperatures and durations, ensuring the information is as digestible as the drink itself. Thus, relating directly to reducing clutter to maximize clarity. In the Food & Beverage industry, I have seen how a cluttered menu or a poorly labeled "well" can slow down a service line. By applying these principles to my video, such as using a clear table to display ingredients and equipment to be used, it made me practiced a user-centered design required in technical manuals. Ultimately, this ensured that the visual elements were not merely decorative but served as essential tools for knowledge transfer.
